About Ellen

I love having a goal. Training for the Boston Marathon in support of Team 261 Fearless has done my heart good—in more ways than one. I am a mother of four children ranging in age from 35 to 22. My husband died of pancreatic cancer in 2014. I live outside of Chicago in Wheaton, Illinois and work in our family business. When I’m not training or working I am passionate about using the labyrinth to bring peace and focus to others. (To learn more about my labyrinth work visit www.globalhealingresponse.com.)

I also love to swim and had the honor of swimming across Lake Michigan in 2013 with a group of wonderful people to raise money for cancer research in Chicago. Another bucket list opportunity, for sure.

I have been more active in the world of triathlon in the past few years and completed the Racine, WI half Ironman in July of 2015. My coach warns me that the Boston Marathon is going to be more difficult— I hope not!

I am so honored to be a part of Team 261 Fearless and can’t wait to stand at the starting line with Kathrine Switzer on April 17, 2017! My bib number is 25848 if you want to follow my race. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
